Community Engagement Assistant

Started at Nexus: 2016

I started my journey with Nexus in September of 2016 through New Sector Alliance’s RISE Fellowship. I was initially drawn to Nexus because of their emphasis on racial equity, racial justice, and the power of community. My role as the Community Engagement Assistant involves developing organizational structure, tools, and curricula for Nexus’s Institute and supporting the growth and development of Nexus’s Institute for Community Engagement.

Prior to working at Nexus, I was a case manager in Washington, D.C. where I worked with people experiencing chronic homelessness. I graduated from Lawrence University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Gender Studies.

I feel grateful to be a part of the Nexus community—it is truly inspiring to work with people who are so passionate about community engagement and equity. When I am not at Nexus, I can be found spending time with my niece, reading an intense psychological thriller, and/or dreaming about traveling and visiting my friends that live all over.
