Started at Nexus: 2015
I am an AmeriCorp Vista member, and I am thrilled to be working here for a year starting on August 5, 2015. My job is to support diverse, community-based organizations along the Blue Line Extension Light Rail Corridor as they find solutions to make their communities more equitable, sustainable, and healthy. I will attend many meetings and open houses, and I hope to meet many of you in-person soon!
Throughout my twisty, post-college career, I have tried many different things that have shaped me into the person I am today. I finished a Master dissertation on how Chinese rural residents collectively challenged illegal and unjust land takings carried out by local governments at St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford. I have spent the last few years pursuing a PhD in International Relations but have switched career direction after interviewing amazing, global health nonprofits in the Twin Cities. They inspired me to find practical solutions to make “health for all” a reality, and I am glad to be able to do that at Nexus. When I’m not working, I am cooking up crazy bone broths and watch The Mindy Project.
