At Nexus:

I have been a program officer at Nexus since December 2012.  I work with a variety of really incredible groups and community leaders along the future Bottineau light rail transit line running from North Minneapolis to Brooklyn Park.  I provide technical assistance and financial resources for transit engagement efforts that build the voice and power of community to advance local and regional equity through the planned Bottineau Light Rail Transit Corridor.

I bring to Nexus about 15 years of community organizing and development experience.  Previously, I was the director/lead organizer for 12 years at the Harrison Neighborhood Association, which is a place-based, multicultural community organization advancing a racial justice framework in North Minneapolis.  When I am not at Nexus, I am spending time with my three wonderful children and lovely wife.

“I’m much better at working out ideas in action than I am in theorizing about it and then transferring my thinking to action. I don’t work that way. I work with tentative ideas and I experiment and then with that experimentation in action, I finally come to the conclusions about what I think is the right way to do it.” — Myles Horton
