Repa’s Professional Bio
Repa serves as President and CEO of Nexus Community Partners, a community building intermediary that works at the intersection of community building and community development, engaging communities of color to achieve equitable, sustainable revitalization in the Twin Cities region. Repa has 25+ years of experience in community-based leadership, community strengthening efforts, asset and wealth building strategies, organizational leadership and development, and systems change efforts, particularly in urban settings. He has been recognized locally and nationally as an innovative and visionary leader.
Repa is a member of the Partnership for Regional Opportunity policy board, and co-chair of the Regional Equity and Community Engagement (RECE) work group. RECE’s goal is to improve regional equity in the outcomes and the decision and implementation processes of regional policies and investments. Repa is also a founding member of the Northside Funders Group and co-chairs the Building Social Capital Priority Focus Area. The Northside Funders Group pulls together the resources, brainpower and organizational will of 19 private, public, and corporate funders to bring equity and opportunity to North Minneapolis. He is co-founder of the Twin Cities African American Leadership Forum and current co-chair. The forum consist of seasoned and emerging leaders in the African American community from across multiple sectors, engaged in deliberative dialogue and action to address the most critical issues affecting the well-being of African American people and families.
Repa is a 2005 Bush Leadership Fellow and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government with a focus on community development; a pending Master’s in Counseling and Psychological Services from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and; a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Urban Studies from the University of Wisconsin.
