African Career, Education & Resource, Inc.

African Career, Education & Resource, Inc. (ACER), is a volunteer-driven, community-based organization founded in 2008 to close the resource, health, and information disparities within Minnesota’s communities of African descent, and help those communities achieve societal and economic independence. ACER received a grant from the Community Engagement Team‘s Outreach and Engagement Grants program, through which the organization engaged and mobilized African immigrants, African Americans, and other people of color to become better educated and active voices on transit issues. The funding for these grants comes from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant Initiative.
