Dear Community,
Going into the new year means going into new possibilities—new ways of living up to our purpose.
In 2025, our communities, again, were hit hard. But amidst the fear, rage, and exhaustion, I hope you found deserved rest, sparks of inspiration, and deep connection. Because whether we’re trying to resolve major challenges, innovate, or hold off storms, these experiences of chaos and adversity light an ember within us. Every time we’re faced with a new situation that demands we rise and rise again, we can draw from the embers of our successes to sustain us. To stand taller. To stand stronger. To see further.
It can be tempting to put your head down and wait out the dark times until you reach the light at the end of the tunnel. But what keeps us going at Nexus is knowing that we don’t have to wait, because there is always light to be found in the dark. And the more we tune our eyes to see it, the brighter the light is.
When I look back at some of the most challenging times in this country’s history, I remember that something beautiful came out of them: movements. Our people found strength and possibility and we rose every time.
We will keep rising. We can see the future we want to create. And now is the time to define the movement of today—together.
