On Aug. 5, the Roy Wilkins Center for Human Relations and Social Justice bestowed its inaugural Roy Wilkins Award for Philanthropy to Nexus’ Founder & CEO, Repa Mekha!
The award was presented at the closing ceremony of the 7th World Conference on Remedies to Racial & Ethnic Inequality. It commemorates Roy Wilkins’ lifelong commitment and fight for civil rights, which began in St. Paul.
The Roy Wilkins Center shared that they selected Repa “due to his leadership and unwavering commitment to St. Paul’s tradition of resident-led community development, advancing community leadership, promoting racial equity and systems change, building community wealth, and strengthening neighborhood organizations.” It was an honor to receive this award and be part of a global gathering for human prosperity in the Twin Cities!
