How It Works
Attend an Info Session!
Please join us to learn more about the program, nomination, and selection process for our 2023-2024 Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute (BCLI). We will be hosting four virtual information sessions throughout July. If you cannot attend any of the information sessions, they will be recorded and can be shared upon request.
You are welcome to contact BCLI staff with any questions you may have about the process, but are also encouraged to attend one of the information sessions before nominating a candidate or applying to be a fellow.

2013 BCLI Launch Event
The BCLI Commitment
- Fellowship runs from October through April
- Attend 3 hour meetings per month on zoom, launch event, and graduation (dates below)
- Work outside of sessions includes readings, online discussions, webinars, and commission meetings
- Total time commitment (including trainings and assignments) is approximately 80 hours
- Fellows receive a small stipend of $500 to honor this time and commitment*

- Launch & Welcome Dinner: Friday, October 13th, 6:00pm-8:00pm
- Sat Session 1: Racial Equity Lens: Saturday, October 14th, 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Sat Session 2: Econ. Development & Land Use: Saturday, November 18th, 9:00am – 5pm
- Sat Session 3: Workforce Development: Saturday, December 16th, 9:00am – 5pm
- Thursday Night Issue Series #1: Thursday, January 11th, 6:00 – 8:00pm
- Sat Session 4: Housing Equity: Saturday, January 20th, 9:00am – 5pm
- Sat Session 5: Transit Equity: Saturday, February 17th, 9:00am – 5pm
- Thursday Night Issue Series #2: Thursday, March 7th, 6:00 – 8:00pm
- Sat Session 6: Health Equity: Saturday, March 16th, 9:00am – 5pm
- Graduation: Thursday, April 4th, 6:00 – 8:00pm
