Applications for our 10th North Star Black Cooperative Fellowship cohort open on Aug. 3!
North Star is a space for political education, strategy, and collective learning rooted in Black cooperative economics and Black feminist practice. We ground people in the history of how Black communities have always built together, even in the face of systemic harm, extraction, and exclusion. At the same time, North Star creates space for people to reclaim that history and put it into practice. Through the seven-month fellowship, participants deepen their understanding of cooperation, strengthen governance and decision-making practices, and develop models that reflect their values and the realities of their communities.
North Star is also about shifting how people move from isolation into relationship and collective power. It connects people to one another and to a broader ecosystem of support, creating the conditions for cooperative ideas to take root and grow.
